Rachael Evelyn Booth has spent her life living between worlds — between the person the world saw and the person she always knew herself to be. Today, she shares that journey with audiences across the country, combining personal experience with hard science and a remarkable life story.
Her Story
Rachael knew from the age of five that something was different. She spent decades trying to reconcile who she was on the inside with the life the world expected her to live — joining the Navy, building a career, getting married, having a child. She tried every plan she could think of.
Eventually, she stopped fighting herself.
In 1991, Rachael came out at work and underwent gender confirmation surgery in Brussels, Belgium. She has lived openly as herself ever since — and has been married to her wife for over 30 years.
